The Key of Avalon (アヴァロンの鍵) is a collectible card game, that mixes mixes board game elements with monster battles, roughly similar to a game like Culdcept. It was developed by Hitmaker, and released in July 2003 on the Triforce arcade board.

The cabinet is a large-scale custom one with up to 4 players being able to play, the four screens are touch-enabled and the big screen in the middle is used for battles. Card scanning is done through a slot that is able to read an entire deck. Cards are dispended depending on the amount of credits used on the game. The game also an IC card for data storage. Before the game begins the player chooses from a number of different avatars individualized in classes, that he levels up through the game.

There are 4 players on the map with 2 roles, a sole Key holder, and the 3 Chasers trying to win the key through an encounter battle and then switch the roles. The goal of the Key holder is to visit 3 of the 4 towers and enter the main castle to win the game. Each role has a phase during the game, with the Chasers being able to move on the map real-time all at once. There are monster cards, monster support cards and character support cards. The cards are also characterized in attack value, defense value, movement value and colors. During a phase, the player is allowed to use six cards. The movement value determines how much the player is able to move on the map, and the attack and defend value is used in battles. If the attack value is greater than the defend value, that player wins.

It received updates until August 2005 which added new cards, characters, balance adjustments and modes, and completely shut down operations in July 2009.

An Online PC version was released in 2009 by Gamepot.
