The Keeping Room is an upcoming American action thriller film directed by Daniel Barber and written by Julia Hart. The film stars Hailee Steinfeld, Sam Worthington, Brit Marling, Amy Nuttall, and Ned Dennehy. It was screened in the Special Presentations section of the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival.[1]
Plot
Left without men in the dying days of the American Civil War, three Southern women — two sisters and one African-American slave — must fight to defend their home and themselves from two rogue soldiers who have broken off from the fast-approaching Union Army.

Production
On October 30, 2012 Wind Dancer Films announced to finance and produce the American civil war thriller film, screenwriter Julia Hart is set to write the script and Harry Brown's director Daniel Barber is set to direct the film.[5] On the same day Hailee Steinfeld and Olivia Wilde joined the cast of the film.[2] Wilde left the film on April 25, 2013 and Brit Marling joined the cast to star with Steinfeld, as the role of her sister.[4] Sam Worthington joined the civil war film on April 29, he'll star as a soldier.[3]
Filming
The shooting of the film began in June 2013 in Bucharest, Romania. The film wrapped up its shooting on July 18, 2013.[6]
