The Heavenly Tenants is a children's fantasy novel by William Maxwell. In the novel, the Marvell family farm in Wisconsin is visited by the living signs of the zodiac; meanwhile, the constellations associated with them disappear from the sky.[1] The book, illustrated by Ilonka Karasz, was first published in 1946 and was a Newbery Honor recipient in 1947.[2]
