The Flintstones: The Surprise at Dinosaur Peak is a platform video game for the Nintendo Entertainment System created and published by Taito Corporation in 1994.
The game was never released in Japan unlike its predecessor The Flintstones: The Rescue of Dino & Hoppy. It was released in August 1994. It is believed to have been released exclusively to Blockbuster Video as a rental title, though despite constantly being cited as such in modern online reviews and websites, no actual evidence of this seems to exist. In this game, the player can switch playable characters between both Fred and Barney, and they both have different attacks and abilities; in the original, the only playable character is Fred. It is one of the rarest games to be released for the console, and is possibly the second rarest commercially released licensed title for the NES (behind Stadium Events.) As of 2014 copies of the game available on eBay and other similar sites usually sell for over $600 USD.[2]
