The Dawn of Understanding is a lost[1] 1918 silent film comedy western produced by The Vitagraph Company of America and starring Bessie Love. It is based on the short story "The Judgement of Bolinas Plain" and the play Sue by 19th century western writer Bret Harte.[2][3][4]
