Corporate Group, or The Corporate Group, is a United Kingdom-based technology and consulting company headquartered in Manchester.[1]

Corporate Group develops and sells computer and mobile device software, and it offers infrastructure and consulting services in areas ranging from application development, integration, and solution development. As of November 2011, Corporate Group holds over four worldwide patents to its technology.

The company was founded in 2011 as the Corporate Group through a merger of two companies, The App Factory[2] and M-Tech Innovation. It has undergone several organizational changes since its inception, acquiring companies like NWP Consulting in 2012.

History

Corporate Group was founded in 2011 from a merger of technology companies largely controlled by David Carter.[3] When a teenager, David Carter began creating applications, which he would then sell worldwide through an Android development account.[4][5] For the first two years Carter acted alone to develop applications to distribute to the Android market, with the first application being uploaded in December 2009. Over a period of six months, Carter developed over 80 mobile applications sold worldwide generating download figures over 600,000.[6] The portfolio of applications developed became the largest seen on Android devices worldwide within 2010, with Carter still 18 years of age.[7] Turning down a University placement, he started to work full-time on the business in September 2010.[8]

Corporate Group was formed to achieve the company's aim to become a more diverse technology company, incorporating more genres of technology. In March 2012, it had been reported that the company rejected a multi-million buy-out offer from The Carlyle Group.
