The Connecticut Mirror is a nonprofit media organization in Connecticut in the United States. It is headquartered in Hartford, Connecticut. The online-only newspaper focuses on the public policy implications of issues in the state. It is the sole outlet of the Connecticut News Project.
The Mirror has 10 full- and part-time staff members, including one in Washington D.C.[1]
History
The Connecticut Mirror was founded in 2009 by a small group of Connecticut residents with $1.8 million in startup funding.[2] After several state news organizations, including the Hartford Courant, suffered massive layoffs, those residents were "concerned about the decline in watchdog journalism."
