The Changing of the Guard is the twelfth album by indie rock band Starflyer 59. It was released on the 10th of August 2010.[6] The album was produced by Jason Martin and mixed by JR McNeely (Anberlin, Paramore, Relient K).

Test vinyl pressings of the album, limited to twenty-five copies, went on sale on the 16th of June and were mailed on the 17th of July 2010 in white vinyl.[7] According to the Starflyer 59 fan club website, all pressings of the album will come in a deluxe gatefold LP format, accompanied by a 7-inch record with two bonus tracks.[8] The final copies of the official pressing was released on coloured vinyl, as opposed to the plain-coloured copies of the main production run.
