The Blow Waves are a five-piece new wave band from Melbourne, Australia fronted by Matt Thomas Matt Doll (ex-frontman of The Mavis's) and The B-Dolls.[1]

The Blow Waves began as Matt Doll working on demos recordings in his bedroom. Wanting to play live, the band was put together. The first live gig was at The Union Hotel in Fitzroy Melbourne followed by the Adelaide Feast Festival in 2006,[2] which they returned to in 2008 and 2009. They played the Forum at the Sydney Mardi Gras in 2008.[3] In 2009 the band went overseas to tour Europe for the first time to play outdoor stages at the 2009 World Outgames (Copenhagen) and Manchester Pride (UK), with side shows in London and Berlin.[4][5][6] They disbanded in early 2013 with Matt Doll and Byron St John now concentrating full-time on their band Video Video.
