Gold covers for an absent Hardy patrolling the beat with Valentine. They help a man who has been assaulted and locked in the boot of his car. The chain of events leading to the attack include a rape, a grudge and a string of lies. Elsewhere, on his way into work, Hardy witnesses a mugging, but it appears the victim may be the criminal, and Gold is horrified when she is called to court to give evidence at a hearing, and comes across her former lover Peter Harris. | ||||||

Heaton is astounded when Perry tells him that the local newspaper is running with a ‘possible closure of Sun Hill’ story, and Gold hints that she thinks she knows who leaked it. Noble and Harman find a woman dead on her sofa, and when they investigate, Webb and Masters discover that what appears to be a suicide may be a case of murder. Valentine and Casper investigate an attack in a local pub, where the landlord suffered a head wound. His attacker is soon identified, but Roger soon begins to realise that the landlord might not be the honest man he thinks he is. | ||||||

Realising he has to choose between his job and Kristen, he decides to sell his soul - and now there is no going back. Emma and Will help a teenager who has become worried that he can't contact his mother, and when she is found assaulted, Webb, Manson and Hunter suspect her son is involved. | ||||||

Despite everybody believing she is on holiday, Honey has been taken hostage, but manages to anonymously alert her colleagues where the real drop-off is occurring... | ||||||

As Meadows hands drugs kingpin Jose Alvarez over to the Serious Organised Crime Agency, it looks as if the Sun Hill team have done enough to save the station from closure, but suspicion mounts about Nadir's involvement with the Colombian gang. The DCI is determined to find out just how much Hunter knew about Nadir's undercover role, but with Kristen Shaw and Eva Garcia still missing, it takes a while before anyone, except a stressing Fletcher, to notice Honey has also disappeared without trace. | ||||||

Gina reports Honey as a missing person when she fails to report for work, and it's not long before her fingerprints are found at Bonham Wharf, identifying her as the second prisoner at the scene. Heaton's wife tells him they are through, and Emma finds out just how controlling her new husband, Matt, can be after the pair have a bitter row. | ||||||

The Sun Hill relief are briefed about Honey's death, and Will is embarrassed to learn her mother wants to meet him, as she has heard so much about him. Zain comes under intense questioning from the Murder Investigation Team, but manages to give Phil and Neil the slip in order to meet up with Kristen and make his escape. It's up to Jack to find him and bring him to justice, but with just about everyone on the Sun Hill relief determined to bring Honey's killer to justice, will Zain manage to evade capture? | ||||||

A student at Rod's school is reluctant to talk about who wounded him with a knife, but some dogged routine work by Reg and Diane searching through CCTV footage eventually gives the team a lead, linking the incident to the disappearance of a paroled prisoner last seen stealing bandages from a chemist's shop. The sight of Gina in her glad rags prompts June to wish for early retirement - and an early wedding. Gina and Smithy search for an absconded prisoner. | ||||||

Newly-promoted Sam takes on the outstanding missing-person files, and proposes a press event to stimulate new responses in the Tennant case. The relief are tasked with policing the Aldbourne Estate, which is to be redeveloped despite the objections of some residents. Tony and Reg catch a youth who has been stealing piping from one of the properties, but the developer refuses to press charges. June challenges him over the use of a derelict property as a drugs den. Smithy and Roger arrest a man for reckless driving, but he gives a false identity and is bailed. Sam and Stuart arrange a sting operation to trap him. Smithy is unimpressed when Kezia decides to spring a surprise for his birthday, and decides to end their relationship. June tells Tony and Reg that she has decided to retire. | ||||||

Sam's memorial initiative on the anniversary of Amy Tennant's disappearance gives the team a lead when a friend of the family is seen stealing something from the missing child's bedroom, and a child's corpse is found buried on an allotment. Emma and Diane investigate an abandoned van and unwittingly set loose a flock of frightened sheep, which turn out to be stolen stock on the way to an illegal slaughterhouse. Emma works out that abductor Shelley Fitzgerald is likely to take Amy Tennant to her childhood haunts in Brighton, after the child is captured on CCTV found by Neil and Sam. Lewis is the first to congratulate her for getting the hunt back on track, but husband Matt continues to belittle everything she does. Neil leads the team in a frantic search on the Sussex coast, where an elated James Tennant finally sets eyes on his daughter for the first time in a year. Roger and Dan bring the boyfriend of the suspected abductor in for questioning. Emma has further problems with Matt when he turns violent after a row about a holiday. | ||||||

It's a tense day at Sun Hill. June tells Gina her suspicions about Hobbs, but also reveals that Heaton is having an affair with his senior officer, and it could compromise the case. Nikki launches the final evictions from the Aldbourne Estate, but Roger and Diane face a riot situation, stuck in a prisoner transporter with a dangerous offender. Mickey investigates June's deliberate car crash from the day before, but Heaton pulls the operation when she names Hobbs whilst interviewing property developer Brian Stevens. What is more important to the Superintendent, his career and his corrupt girlfriend, or the station and the officers he commands? Jim Carver returns to Sun Hill to catch a drug dealer for a case with the Greater Manchester Police. | ||||||

Jim Carver, now a DS at the Greater Manchester Police, shows up at Sun Hill to track down drug dealer Pat Hadley. It's June's last ever day at Sun Hill and she is paired with her ex-husband on an observation mission to find out what Hadley is up to in London, but the pair are soon at loggerheads over their troubled past. She discovers Jim has turned his life around and has a hidden motive for his visit from Manchester - but their animosity soon manages to jeopardise the operation and the former husband and wife couple are kidnapped by Hadley's assistant Greg Burns. Uniform search wasteland where a skeleton has been found and Lewis is surprised when the trail leads to his flatmate's brother Rudy. Reg gives Lewis life lessons that he takes to heart in an interview. | ||||||

The Sun Hill team spring into action when June and Jim are kidnapped by Greg Burns. Pat Hadley and Burns go ahead with a drug deal, but it's compromised when Jim and June announce their presence, and CID have to launch a murder inquiry. June and her ex are taken to a warehouse, but a suspect can't be questioned when he claims Lewis assaulted him when he collapses in custody. Jim tells June he will repay his debt to her, but will she have her happily-ever-after with Jim, or Rod? | ||||||

An overworked Smithy loses his cool and accidentally reveals to a worried woman that her husband has been held on suspicion of stalking a prostitute. Mickey undertakes PR work with the local Neighbourhood Watch group on the Jasmine Allen Estate, but when he makes two arrests during a drugs deal, he becomes drawn into investigating a joyriding incident. Diane and Will attend the scene of a burglary. Phil and Jo investigate the assault of a woman running an adult webcam service. Sam seizes the chance to put away a villain from her past. | ||||||

Smithy encounters Ryan Jones again and finds the battered corpse of his wife Connie in the boot of his car. As the murderer makes his getaway in the London Underground, it soon becomes clear he has a personal vendetta against the Sun Hill desk sergeant and plans further killings, working his way through Smithy's address book - beginning with his mother Pauline. Smithy has to rely on Jack and Mickey, who lead a manhunt for the suspect, to keep his friends and family safe. | ||||||

A terrified youngster decides to flee rather than give evidence against a well-known local thug, leaving Tony and Reg to find the key witness, but Matt Hinckley proves his worth by getting a conviction when the case comes to court. A member of the Sken gang is stabbed, and while Phil and Jo investigate the incident, Lewis is tempted to bend the rules to investigate the involvement of his cousin Dominic. Will and Diane trace the vehicle involved back to Heaton's old enemy Ray Moore, prompting Jack to dig deeper - only to learn one of Moore's known associates has been reported missing. | ||||||

Heaton reveals that hit-and-run driver Paddy Morgan has disappeared - and assigns Jack, Mickey and Terry to investigate when it is discovered that he may have been killed by Ray Moore's hit-man. Later, Moore's little girl Annie is arrested for threatening a playmate with a gun, the weapon which the superintendent is convinced was used in the murder. Mia Perry grows closer to her commanding officer during the investigation, and Gina has a romantic assignation with married lover Peter Harris which fails to live up to expectations. | ||||||

The Sun Hill relief are walking on eggshells when Gina's married lover goes missing, and his wife turns up at the station with a ransom note from the kidnapper. Gina asks Neil and Sam to investigate his disappearance. Roger and Lewis answer a call to the Larkmead estate, where Lewis' girlfriend's younger brother has been assaulted. Despite his injuries, the youngster hasn't lost his appetite for mixing it with the local heavies. | ||||||

Gina tries to give Peter the brush-off, and Lewis agrees to speak up for his girlfriend's brother Rudy when he is pulled in for a minor offence. Jo and Terry investigate an assault, which leads them to uncover a plot to rob a security van, while Reg and Dan uncover the mystery behind a pensioner's heart attack. CID are brought in when witnesses involved in a serious assault case prove to have form for armed robbery. | ||||||

Stuart plays a practical joke on Phil that ruins his investigation into a robbery at a nail bar. When Jack comes across the pair fighting in CID he jumps to the conclusion Phil is the guilty party and would learn more respect for the job by having a spell back on the beat in uniform. Roger is not impressed when Lewis ropes him into laborious paperwork to get some background on the mysterious skull Tash's brother Rudy discovered a few weeks ago, but his hard work discovers a link to a teenage girl who disappeared in the 1980s. | ||||||

Phil squeezes back into uniform and teams up with Leela to investigate a girl accused of robbing a shop. Mia and John work together on the case of an escaped prisoner who has returned to the area seeking revenge on a local businessman, and after flirting all day, give in to temptation. Heaton denies getting into a clinch with Mia when questioned, but Mickey suspects that something is going on. | ||||||

CID investigates when a gang of youths carries out a number of audacious daylight robberies, and Emma is stabbed during the undercover operation. Witness Josh makes a startling confession to Nikki, and his behaviour gives her cause for concern. Manson coordinates a raid on a crack house, while Lewis and Roger search for the dealer running it. Heaton briefs Gina and Jo on the alleged events of the night before. | ||||||

Sam, Nikki and Diane deal with a young woman who was pushed from a walkway on the Cole Lane Estate. Sam, Nikki and Smithy are then called to deal with the attempted suicide of the woman's husband. Nikki and Diane are called to a disturbance at her flat the next day, but she has disappeared without trace. Mickey deals with an assault, while Terry, Tony and Dan go undercover to trap a confidence trickster. This episode originally supposed to be broadcast in December 2006, but was cancelled when a mastertape was stolen from the filming studios in November 2006. | ||||||

After the discovery of Reshna’s body the previous day, Sam and Jack wait for the forensic report. They find out that Reshna was strangled before being left in the Thames. In the meantime, Roger and Lewis track down Marcus and take him in for questioning. Marcus is distraught to hear about Reshna’s death and as a result, fails to answer any of Jack and Sam’s questions. Diane and Mickey's questioning of an alleged mugging victim, Maggie Carpenter, leaves them confused. Smithy tells the officers to go over Maggie’s statement again, as he believes her to be more of a drama queen than a victim. Jack is anxious to prove he's a worthy DCI and agrees to go undercover with Sam to get a lead on the illegal baby-selling business, but his mistake puts his inexperienced colleague in danger. | ||||||

Terry approaches Manson for permission to mount an undercover operation to expose the child-pornography ring that Josh Carey is involved in. | ||||||

Phil's spell in uniform comes to a triumphant end when he borrows a bike to chase a mugger and recovers £15,000 in cash. The case gets more interesting when the victim admits he is being blackmailed. Heaton reassures terrified prosecution witness Martin Turnbull he will be given protection following threats from Ray Moore, only to discover the villainous ex-cop has subtler ways of intimidating people. Emma and Reg attend the scene of a road traffic accident. | ||||||

Gang member Wesley Meeks is shot, and his dying words in the ambulance are the name of corrupt ex-policeman Ray Moore. Heaton struggles to find evidence linking the victim with his arch enemy, but Lewis's contacts reveal the red scorpion tag sprayed on all of Moore's properties was Wesley's handiwork. Phil's first day back in plain clothes gets off to a bad start, after he and Stuart interview a young joyrider, and follow up a report that he plans to take part in an armed robbery. Manson tells the warring DSs about a temporary switch with a Specialist Crime Directorate, and Phil can't help but gloat when he gets the secondment. | ||||||

Lewis's girlfriend nurse Tash Niles is attacked in the hospital car park, raising the terrifying prospect that Ray Moore is targeting people who could testify against him. Diane encounters a pensioner who turns out to be a fan of Reg's podiatry Regflections - and clearly has other guilty secrets to hide - including what appears to be a series of robberies from the homes of other pensioners. Heaton directs a search for further evidence into Ray Moore's activities. | ||||||

As Rudy's condition deteriorates, Tash finally agrees to testify against Ray Moore, but the case is not moving fast enough for Lewis, who takes matters into his own hands. | ||||||

It appears she left her daughter at St. Hugh's, but the great-grandmother did pick her up. Fletcher and Casper find the child, but Stone only acknowledges Fletcher's part in the finding of the baby, and Casper hands in his resignation when he is offered a security job in Ibiza. They are both arrested, but the prime suspect has an alibi, and both are bailed. The suspect appears to be closer to the action than they first thought. Hunter helps Monica Dreyfuss when she thinks she sees someone in her garden, and when she is robbed and found extremely drunk in a restaurant. The ex-boyfriend abducts his friend and the friend ends up ditching his fiancée at the altar, but they become friends, and the former couple reconcile their relationship. Turner tells Hunter his ex left him for her best friend, which he is teased about. The OBBO goes belly up when Noble is held captive by the suspect. | ||||||

Heaton orders a raid on his home, but time is of the essence as Turivic is flying out of the country. Dasari and Hunter investigate the theft of a 20 grand painting. Leela is offered a job at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, but little did she know, Stone pulled the strings that secured her transfer. | ||||||

Gold tries to jail armed robbery suspect, Vince Murray, who nearly killed her in the Tozer Street bank explosion in 1983. He meets up with the two survivors of the robbery and as they make a hoax armed robbery call, a real one goes down on the other side of the borough. Vince is once again released and Armstrong finds herself held captive by the robbers, Vince's son Darren, and his best friend Kieran, whose father was killed in the blast. When Kieran discovers his father died, a heated standoff occurs with Darren and Vince both as viable targets, on the sight of the wasteground where the Tozer Street bank was. | ||||||

Ross turns up dead, stabbed in the boot of a car in a scrapyard, where Billy used to work. Noble is held by Billy, but Tam shows up, not before badly beating Billy's girlfriend to get his location. Billy confesses to stabbing Ross to death, but Diane suspects he's not responsible. Hunter spends his last day at Sun Hill clearing his desk, and tells Nixon about his 'injury' he obtained vaulting a pub table whilst he was seconded to Special Projects, when they tell her as she gives his reference. | ||||||

A screaming woman, who was attacked by the prowler, whom Hollis was responding too, is a near lookalike of a woman held hostage by a paranoid schizophrenic, Michael Simms, who lives three doors down from the victim, Shelley Cooper. Her ex-boyfriend, Chris Ramsden, spreads a rumour about Michael and tensions rise on the Aldbourne. Manson discusses the case between Dasari and his therapist, Julia Bickham. Chris Ramsden appears at Sun Hill tells CID that Michael has assaulted Shelley, but Michael's mother claims she's his girlfriend, which is backed up by Shelley's son, Jas. However, Michael has abducted Shelley and taken her to a warehouse where he held his last victim. Jas shows up at the warehouse, a gunshot rings out and Michael flees as Shelley lies wounded on the ground. | ||||||

Michael is shot dead but all that remains is his camcorder. The DPS are called in to investigate Manson as the Sun Hill team race to find the gun to save their DI from the axe. Shelley and Jas Cooper confirm the whole incident was caused by Chris Ramsden planting a ski mask and knife in his flat. Walker makes a breakthrough that could save Manson's career. | ||||||

As they go to talk to her they find her overdosing on sleeping pills. An envelope is found with photos of her and a threatening note. Diane believes a neighbour is responsible, but before he is arrested, the husband and neighbour are found fighting in the hallway of the building. As the case collapses, some hard graft and persistence from Stone sees the case turn around. Stone issues a harsh warning to the suspect. | ||||||

The Sun Hill team are left dealing with the fallout of the shooting at the Rock Against Racism concert. Event coordinator Nadim Mura gives Heaton a name, Abdul Muntaqim, but dies due to a bullet in his lung. Paul Sagger survives with a shoulder wound. Ahmed Hassar is questioned but denies his involvement, but confesses he set of a firecracker, which is the source of the first 'gunshot'. Heaton continues the investigation into Sagger's alleged artefact smuggling, but the artefact, an ornamental dagger, which Sagger uses as a letter opener. Dasari makes a breakthrough, and identifies the name Heaton was given by Mura as Haqim Abd-Al Muntaqim. Masters and Perkins go to arrest a doctor, who is a member of the Bulldogs, who might have been responsible for killing Mura in hospital. He is not responsible as Mura's post-mortem reveals he was killed by a heart attack, but it's not in vein, as the uncover a conspiracy where the Bulldogs were going to kidnap Mura. Manson and Dasari discover that Heaton was the target from the third bullet, and as the DI calls to warn the Super, two bullets go through his car as he takes Sagger back to Sun Hill. | ||||||

The man fleeing St. Hugh's is identified as private investigator Alfredo Ruiz, and he gives CID Muntaqim's address, but it's too late. Jacobs got there first and Muntaqim is dead. Heaton gets ready to transfer Sagger to another station, but Jacobs shows up armed with a gun, with a bomb strapped to himself. | ||||||

The sting goes belly up when ram-raiders crash a 4X4 through the front of the store. First it appears that the ram-raiders wanted a camera that a woman in sex videos on the camera wanted it back to cover her secret, but her boyfriend is a villain from Meadows' past, and they uncover a cash-in-transit armed robbery plot. | ||||||

Fletcher and Stone find an ex-con dead in his bail hostel. It is determined that he overdosed on heroin laced with fentanyl. Meadows and Webb go to Hayesend Prison to discuss the case, as a guard on the convict's wing was found in possession of heroin just days before. On CCTV, a convict is seen assaulting the guard during the plant; disgraced ex-Sun Hill DC Zain Nadir, serving 10 years for perverting the course of justice for his part in PC Honey Harman's death at the beginning of the year. Meadows puts pressure on him to associate with the wing's dealer Jason Forbes, who is Zain's cellmate. Zain reluctantly agrees and informs CID on a drug shipment arriving in the prison the next morning. Things go wrong when Forbes resists as prison guards begin the search and Forbes breaks out. | ||||||

Meadows takes him to Forbes' old club, the house of his girlfriend. They discover that his ex-girlfriend and their lawyer are having an affair. Forbes hunts for the man he claimed put him to jail, and he is found dead in his flat. Zain and Meadows are faced with a dangerous situation involving Forbes, a loaded gun and the girlfriend & lawyer. | ||||||

Perkins' informant's son is seen as the getaway driver, and it is compromised, so the informant takes his place and the son is arrested for taking and driving away. The informant is absent when the raid occurs and Carter & Perkins find him dying with two shotgun shells in his stomach, causing the DC to go on a drunken bender. Gayle and Armstrong's case of drunken taxi passengers not paying for the fare escalates into a smuggling investigation, and Armstrong & Stamp find themselves staring down the barrels of pistols in the station reception. | ||||||

Perkins sleeps off his hangover in a cell and finds himself in a waking nightmare, trapped in Sun Hill with two murder suspects, two drug mules in a bad way and a pair of reckless maniacs threatening to kill if they don't get their girlfriends back, but he insists on going after armed robber Jimmy Duncan for retribution after his informant's death. |
