The BPM Festival is an annual electronic music festival, held in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.[1]

The festival was founded in 2008 and was originally conceived as an industry event for people in the hospitality industry.[2][3] BPM stood for "Bartenders, Promoters, Managers".[4] The festival has grown[5] to become a global gathering of DJs, producers and electronic dance music fans.[6]

The BPM Festival lasts for 10 days, with over 150 DJs and 50 events. The program is split into daytime and nighttime showcases hosted by different record labels and promoters,[7] across various venues in Playa del Carmen, including beachclubs, nightclubs and even an underground restaurant.[8][9][10]

Approximately 35000 people attended The BPM Festival in 2012.[11]

Artists on the 2013 schedule include Richie Hawtin, Sasha, Jamie Jones, Damian Lazarus, Carl Cox, Maceo Plex, Soul Clap, Wolf + Lamb, Lee Burridge, Dixon, Loco Dice and Luciano.[12]
