The Ant Bully

The Ant Bully (ISBN 0590395912) is a 1999 children's book drawn and written by John Nickle. It is about a young boy named Lucas Nickle (also known as Peanut the Destroyer), who is the titular character in the book and who likes to torment ants. It was later adapted into a computer-animated film of the same name by John A. Davis, produced by Legendary Pictures and DNA Productions for Warner Bros. Pictures.

Story

Lucas is a boy that other kids thought he is weird because of his funny glasses and his beanie propeller and was constantly bullied by Sid the neighborhood bully who sprayed him with the hose and stealing his hat. He took out his frustrations with the ants with spraying them with a water gun and flooding the ant colony. The ants have had enough and took tackled him and shoved Lucas into the queen chamber, confronting him about all the trouble he caused the colony, Lucas is too shocked to even respond to her, which the queen took it as an insult, the queen orders an ant wizard to shrink the boy down to the size of an ant and it taken to trial where the judge declares him guilty and his punishment is to work hard like an ant, such as working in the field, gathering food and defending the colony from wasps and Spiders, and taking care of the queen which the worst part of his punishment. After a while the queen tells Lucas that he has one last test to be set free and the test is that he must go home and bring her a red swell jell, which is a red Jelly bean. Lucas brings two ants to go with him on the journey and ask him what was it like being a giant, Lucas tells them that he wasn't a giant and got picked on by Sid a lot by all the same stuff Lucas did to the ants. When they reach his house and find a box of Swell Jell's Lucas father see's the ants and is about to smash them with a fly swatter, but Lucas shouts at this dad to stop distracting the ants to escape. The queen is upset fearing that Lucas was killed, to her surprise that he returns and as promised she gives him the potion to return to his size who falls asleep and wakes up to see Sid only to his surprise the ants got to him first and made him ant size which makes Lucas happy.
