The 1st Album is the debut album by Modern Talking, released in the middle of 1985 in Germany.[2] It was released by Hansa Records and distributed by Ariola/BMG.

Background

The album contains two international hits "You're My Heart, You're My Soul" and "You Can Win If You Want". The first single peaked at No. 1 in many countries, including Germany (where it spent four weeks at the top), Switzerland and Austria. It also entered the top 5 in other countries like France, Norway and Sweden.[3][4] Both singles attained gold sales status in Germany, having each sold over 250,000 units.[5]

The 1st Album peaked at No. 1 in Germany on May 27, 1985.[6] The album spent total of 4 weeks at the top and 18 weeks within the top-10, it eventually went platinum selling well over 500,000 units in Germany alone.[5][7]
