The Thaddeus Jackson House is a historic house at 15 Alberta Road in Brookline, Massachusetts. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.[1] The 2-1/2 story wood frame house was built in 1820, and is one of Brookline's older surviving homes. Its styling is essentially late Georgian, unusual given its construction late in the Federal period. Thaddeus Jackson, the builder, was the son of Abraham Jackson, a local blacksmith.[2] Thaddeus Jackson was also a successful blacksmith. Thaddeus Jackson married Lydia Woodward, daughter of Caleb Woodward and Hannah Chever, on 14 October 1773 in First Parish Church, Brookline, Norfolk County, Massachusetts. They had nine children together, including Lydia Jackson Farwell, the founding mother of Ischua, New York. Thaddeus Jackson was a private in Capt. Thomas White's (Brookline) company of militia, Col. William Heath's regiment., which marched on the alarm of this day April 19, 1775. On 3 May 1775 Thaddeus Jackson ended his service under Capt. Thomas White. On 27 Nov 1782, Abraham Jackson, Thaddeus's ageing father took as his third wife, Hannah Cheever Woodward, the widowed mother of Thaddeus's wife. Thaddeus Jackson lost his first wife Lydia Woodward Jackson on 07 May 1801. On 21 April 1805, he married Abigail Wiswall (b. 1762, d. 1854) in Brookline, Norfolk County, Massachusetts. They lived in this house for about 12 years together. Thaddeus Jackson died on 12 October 1832 in Brookline, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, at age 80. He was buried in Walnut Creek Cemetery, Brookline, Norfolk County, Massachusetts. Private Thaddeus Jackson headstone notes he was "A Soldier of the Revolution".
