Texila American University (TAU) is an independent, autonomous International University, owned by the Texila American University Ltd – Hong Kong (TAU-HK), an education management company. The University is located in Guyana, South America and offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in medicine, nursing, public health and allied sciences.
Management and Organization
TAU was established in Guyana in 2010. Today, the University renders Medicine and Nursing programs in its campus and several Post Graduate and Distance &Online Programs in partnership with reputed Universities world-wide. Hence, the degree offered by TAU and/or its partners holds Global Recognition. The maiden batch of Doctors was graduated from the University in June 2014 in an event held in Hotel Marriott Marquis in Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America.
As of 2013, there are around 400+ students from over 35 Countries on campus in Guyana.TAU Ltd., the Parent Company, trains over 1800 Students from 60+ Countries on various programs that are offered in Texila Guyana and in partnership with other universities worldwide. In addition to the Guyana campus, TAU has several Administration Offices in different parts of the world. Admission Offices are established in India, Hong Kong, USA, and UAE to manage the admission and administration processes.
Programs Offered
College of Medicine
Students wishing to achieve the Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree (if they already have the Bachelors or the Associate/Diploma in relevant Science area) may enter directly into the Pre-clinical programs and the students with 10 to 12 years of education (A level or O level) can enter in to the Pre-medical Program. In the end of the training, students get DUAL Degree which is Doctor of Medicine and Bachelors of Science.
College of Nursing
Nursing programs offered in this vertical renders an excellent opportunity for the students with schooling education to build up a good career in nursing via Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Lateral Entries in the Bachelor programs are also encouraged for the students with Science background. Registered nurse can study for a 2 year RN- BSN program on Campus in Guyana.
Post Graduate Programs
Several Post graduate programs are also given importance for the students with the Bachelors or the other higher degrees. Students get benefited with the great faculty and the academic support from the University for pursuing the degree. Students who wish to enhance their educational experience and broaden their career opportunities can take up these programs. Fellowship programs are also included which will range from few months to one year.
Research based PhD or the Doctoral programs would help the students to attain the highest degrees of their education in the concentrated specialization. All the post graduate programs are rendered in partnership with the Central University of Nicaragua.
