Terekeme people

The Terekeme people are an ethnic group of Azerbaijanis[1] which live in Dagestan and in some southern regions of Azerbaijan. it united mainly population engaged pasture cattle breeding in the province and is most often used in the sense of "nomads"[2]

The group is currently Azerbaijanis called "terekeme" presented in the central and southern regions of Azerbaijan, as well as in Russia (Dagestan) and Turkey. The Terekemes are Shiite and Sunni Muslims and speak Terekemensky dialect of Azerbaijani language.
