The District of Tepelenë (Albanian: Rrethi i Tepelenës) is one of the thirty-six districts of Albania, part of Gjirokastër County. It has a population of 23,800[1] (2010 estimate), and an area of 817 km². It is in the south of the country, and its capital is Tepelenë. The district consists of the following municipalities:

Tepelenë district is home to a number of bottled water plants. It is also known for a visit by Lord Byron of Great Britain during the 19th century. Such was the impression made that he wrote the poem titled "Mother Albania" depicting the natural beauty of Albania and the loyalty and fierceness of its warriors.
