Tenstar Community
Tenstar Community, often known simply as "TEN", is a Third Sector not-for-profit association registered in Italy, dedicated to the sustainable social regeneration by working with disadvantaged artists and authoritative professionals through their disciplines such as Architecture, Arts, Cinematography, Design, Engineering, Photography, Graphics, Music, Performing Arts and Urban regeneration.,[1] "Ten" works on education, culture and creativity focusing on education, culture and creativity and on the retooling of such disciplines by creating interactivity within them and with the Creative Economy[2] and the Green Economy.
Background
Tenstar Community Platform was created in 2000 by Abbas Gharib and nine other professionals and artists who supported creative people, confronting through a dialogue with the Western culture, and their disciplines by targeted initiatives. "Ten" - International Developments for the Post-contemporary formed actions beginning in ten creative areas to support young designers and artists in the Middle East.
Later in 2008, the center of this Platform was transferred to Italy, as a Registered Italian association to implement better the actions, in an environment best suited to create a network for its objectives and a container for its concepts believing that Educational sectors, including public and private services, are forming large parts of creative areas.[3]
Mission and Vision
The Community's mission is to transform creative innovation, which contribute to the passage from an energy based to a knowledge based production. In these panorama, its vision through concepts and creations, leads to new creative paths and overcomes the contemporary paradigms in the field of artistic expression, toward the future. The formation of this movement rebuilts the legacy of artistic and cultural heritage of the city artifacts, which are meaningful as the best places like spatial containers capable of making experiences and creating employments in a sustainable value added creative prediction, such as social economy, for a post-industrial society based on advanced economy of culture and creativity. [4]
New Organizers with new tasks
New Organizers of "Tenstar Community” in Italy are Sandra Villa, an architect and designer, Samì Gharib, a sociologist and expert in communication and Leila Gharib who is a Musician and art performer.
This initiative coincides with the economical and social innovation, so that the ten creative areas and the ten goals of the Association, are and remain as:
- Following the actions that lead to the new renovated societies which are post-industrial, post-informatics and more conceptual, based on the forces of the Creative Citizens Rights;
- Looking at the western economic and social crisis as a resource and opportunity for transformation and growth;
- Being active in the educational, cultural and creative sectors, that are engines for growth and development;[5]
- Joining and work in the Creative Economy and in the third sectors;
- Interacting between local and internationalization events in the areas of creativity, culture and training;
- Continuing vigorously with "Social economy" as the advanced creative Economic growth;
- Sustaining the "Social Sectors" to grow wealth and to "make yourself the actors of Creative Citizens";[6]
- Organizing creative cultural and educational events as opportunities that have excelled to innovate and grow;
- Creating the Containers of Education Culture and Creativity, in each city with the goal of sustaining talents, producing jubs,providing services and developing Creative Economy;
- Developing a web-based platform for sharing and participatory approaches for reuse the education, culture and creativity, as augmented reality.
