History
- 1898 The station opens as Tanbaichi Station of Nara Railways
- 1905 The station becomes the part of Kansai Railway
- 1907 Becomes part of Japanese Government Railways (predecessor of JNR)
- 1915 Tenri Narrow Railway expands to Tenri
- 1921 Tenri Narrow Railway merges with Osaka Electric Railway (predecessor of Kintetsu)
- 1941 OER and Sangu Kyuko Railway merges
- 1944 Kankyu Tenri station becomes Kintetsu Tenri Station
- 1963 JNR Tanbaichi Station becomes Tenrishi Station
- 1965 The Sakurai Line is elevated, and both stations merges into one
- 1987 JNR becomes JR West
- 2007 Kintetsu Tenri starts using PiTaPa
