Telekom Networks Malawi (TNM) is one of the largest telecommunications service providers in Malawi. It is based in Blantyre, Malawi's finance and commerce capital.

Established in 1995 as a joint venture between Telekom Malaysia and Malawi Telecommunications Limited, it is listed on the Malawi Stock Exchange.

TNM is first network to offer 3G services in Malawi and one of the preferred network for data services.

On 8 December 2011, TNM Limited announced the introduction of its BlackBerry products and services at a ceremony held at the company's head office in Blantyre.

TNM grew its subscriber base by 35% in 2011 from market share of 37% to 42%.

TNM has invested in transmission fibre backbone of 430 km and it is providing high quality redundant network to Malawi.

TNM is working on RAN Renewal Project to replace the Alcatel legacy equipment with state-of-the-art feeder-less BTSs which will consume significant less power as it does not require air conditioning and the same equipment is 4G (LTE) ready.

TNM has launched a mobile money service under the brand name of Mpamba.[2]

They are also the name sponsor of the Malawi Premier League.

Management

Williem Swart is the current Managing Director of TNM. He is a Chartered Accountant SAICA and a member of the Institute of Directors in Southern Africa. Swart has more than 17 years experience in mobile telecommunication industry at senior management and at board level within the Vodacom group. He was part of the initial team that set up Vodacom (Pty) Ltd and held several posts including Chief Officer of International Business Vodacom Group Ltd up to July 2010 and was responsible for 29 companies, including four mobile network operations, gateway carrier services and Vodacom Africa Business Services, Chief Executive Officer of Vee Networks Ltd (Trading as V-mobile Nigeria#, Managing Director of Vodacom Congo #DRC) Ltd, Finance Director of Vodacom Service Provider Company (Pty) Ltd and Vodacom (Pty) Ltd. He held directorships in several companies within the Vodacom Group.[3]
