Tejaswi Madivada (Telugu: తేజస్వి మదివాడ; born 3 July 1991) is an Indian film actress and model, who works in the Telugu and Tamil film industries. A professional dancer turned actress, she made her acting debut in 2013 with Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu and became noted after starring in Ice Cream.
Early life and education
Tejaswi studied Mass communication and Journalism at the St Francis College for Women in Hyderabad. She later worked part-time as a freelance dance instructor with Twist n Turns and took classes for MNCs like HSBC, Wipro, Franklin Templeton and in schools like Hyderabad Public School and Nasr School for Girls.[1] She participated at Miss Dabur Gulabari 2011, a beauty pageant, where she was the second runner-up and which reportedly got her her first film offer.[2]
Career
She made her acting debut in 2013 with a supporting role in the Telugu family drama film '.[3] Next year she was seen in further supporting roles in Manam and in Nithin's Heart Attack,[4] before landing her first lead role in Ram Gopal Varma's horror film Ice Cream. The film made the headlines after it was reported that Tejaswi had appeared nude in one scene.[5][6][7] Ice Cream received mixed reviews from critics.[8]
She has completed filming for three Telugu projects, Lovers [9] Anukshanam, another Ram Gopal Varma directorial,[10] and Kranthi Madhav's Malli Malli Idhi Rani Roju, in which she has acted as Nithya Menen's daughter.[11][12] She is part of two more Telugu films, Pandaga Chesko [13] and Omkar's Raju Gari Gadi,[14] while she has commenced work on her first Tamil film tentatively titled Holi too.[15]
