Tejashwi Prasad Yadav (born 9 November 1989) in Patna, Bihar is an Indian cricketer who plays for the Jharkhand team. He is the son of former Bihar chief ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, and was born in Patna. He was bought by the IPL team of Delhi Daredevils for the 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2012 Indian Premier League (IPL). He has been declared as the political successor of Lalu Prasad Yadav.
Early life
Tejashwi Yadav was born to former chief ministers of Bihar Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi on 9 November 1989 in Patna.[1][2] He is the youngest of nine children of the couple.[3] He studied at the Delhi Public School, Mathura Road in Delhi.[4]
Cricket career
Tejashwi Yadav plays for Jharkhand in domestic cricket.[2] He has also played in age-group cricket for Delhi.[5] Yadav was bought by Delhi Daredevils for the 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2012 IPL.[6][7][8][9] Telling about his IPL experience, he said it is "fun and exciting", and provide an "opportunity to play against so many international, world class players."[10] Yadav also said that not getting a chance to play "has been frustrating" for him. He added,"Others have played but I am still waiting for my opportunity. But as much as I want to play, it's also about the right team combination and there are so many other good all-rounders. It has been nice to be in the company of so many international players and it's good to share the dressing room with them."[11] According to sources, he was paid between 
3 million (US$48,000) to 4 million (US$63,000) by the Daredevils despite not playing in any match by virtue of being the part of the team.[11] Speaking on his son's cricket career, Lalu Prasad Yadav said that his son will "at least have the opportunity to serve water to the players" if he does not get a chance to play.[4]
Political career
Yadav is also active in politics, and Lalu Prasad Yadav has already declared him as his successor.[4] He campaigned for his father's political party Rashtriya Janata Dal during the 2010 Bihar legislative assembly election.[12] When asked about the question of family politics, Yadav's mother Rabri Devi said,"From Sharad Pawar to Karunanidhi, everybody has his children in politics, but nobody calls it a family business. When we do the same, questions are raised on us. Why? It is nothing but caste bias. Since we are from a lower caste, we are being targeted."[1] The then leader of opposition in Bihar Legislative Assembly Abdul Bari Siddique said, "This is a struggling phase. Anybody joining the party, be it Rabri Devi's son, daughter or relative, will have to undergo the struggle. They might have to face lathi-charge, sit for satyagrah, go to jail. If still they are eager to join, then they are most welcome."[1]
