Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Half Shell (Also known as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 Or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Half Shell) is an upcoming American 3D science fiction action comedy film, directed by Dave Green, based on the franchise of the same name. It is intended to be the sequel to 2014's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and will be written by Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec, starring Megan Fox, Stephen Amell, Will Arnett, William Fitchner, Brian Tee, Tyler Perry and Laura Linney. Principal photography on the film began on April 27, 2015 in New York City. The film is scheduled to be released to cinemas on June 3, 2016

Alessandra Ambrosio, as well as Los Angeles Clippers players DeAndre Jordan, Matt Barnes, J.J. Redick, Austin Rivers and Spencer Hawes will be making cameos in the film.[2][3]

Production

Before the release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, William Fichtner revealed that he has signed on for three sequels.[4] Noel Fisher also revealed that all four of the turtle actors have signed on for three films as well.[5] Liebesman and Fuller had confirmed that Casey Jones as well as Bebop and Rocksteady will appear in the sequels.[6] There are also plans for Krang and Dimension X in the sequels as well.[7] On August 10, 2014, Paramount announced that a sequel will be released on June 3, 2016, with Michael Bay returning as producer and Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec coming back as screenwriters.[8][9] On December 4, it was revealed that Dave Green, director of Earth to Echo, was in talks to direct the sequel.[10] It was also revealed that villains Bebop and Rocksteady would appear in the film, while producers were trying to get Casey Jones into the film as well.[11]

It was also announced on March 31, 2015 that actor Stephen Amell was cast as Casey Jones for the sequel.[12] On April 21, 2015, Paramount officially confirmed that Bebop and Rocksteady would appear in the sequel and showed the first images of them at CinemaCon.[13] On April 23, 2015, Variety announced that Tyler Perry was cast as Baxter Stockman in the sequel.[14] Brian Tee was cast as Shredder on April 27, 2015.[15]

Filming

Filming is scheduled to begin in April in New York City and Buffalo, spending about $70 million in the state.[16] Principal photography on the film began on April 27, 2015 in New York City, crew was spotted filming in Midtown Manhattan.[17] Filming in Buffalo is set to begin on location on May 4, 2015.[18] It will end in Buffalo on May 17, 2015.[19]
