Taylor Kathleen "Tay" Jardine (born March 7, 1990) is an American singer and songwriter. She is the front woman in the pop punk band We Are the In Crowd.

Early life

Jardine grew up in the small town of Liberty, New York. She was very close with her father, Ray Jardine, who was also a musician. Ray died when she was around thirteen years old. In high school, Jardine played on the soccer, basketball, and softball teams; played violin in the orchestra; and was a member of the National Honor Society. She started singing when she was fourteen years old, and listened to artists like P!nk and Alicia Keys. She is a triplet, and the oldest of the three. Her brother's name is Devin, and her sister's name is Lindsey. She also has an older sister named Samantha. Her parents got divorced, and shortly after her father moved to Florida.

We Are the In Crowd

In 2009, Jardine was in a band called Sofmoure. After the band tied for first place in a battle of the bands competition, she was asked if she would be interested in joining a studio project called The In Crowd. The other members of the project were Jordan Eckes (vocals, guitar) , Mike Ferri (bass) , and Rob Chianelli (drums). The band released a digital sampler through Myspace and quickly gained a fanbase. Later that year, the band's Myspace was hacked by a former member. After Jardine released a video on YouTube explaining the hacking to her fans, Hopeless Records contacted the band and offered them a record deal. After signing to the label, the band picked up Cameron Hurley (lead guitar, backing vocals). The band had to change their name after copyright problems with the Jamaican reggae band with the same name. Instead of changing their name completely, they added "We Are" to the original name.

Personal life

Jardine resides in Liberty, New York. In 2014, she partnered with Never Take It Off to start her own jewelry line. She also does frequent modeling for the clothing line Glamour Kills and has a signature bomber jacket there.
