The Taunton Alms House is a historic alms house located on Norton Avenue in Taunton, Massachusetts. It built in 1876 on the site of a previous alms house, during a period of reform that sought to improve housing, health care and educational conditions for the poor. The property also contained a communal farm.[2]
The building was designed by local architect E.C. Chandler, and added to National Register of Historic Places in 1984. The site is now known as Taunton Nursing Home, and includes a large (non-historic) addition on two sides.
