Tatarstan are one of the twenty-four participating countries and regions competing in the first Türkvizyon Song Contest scheduled to take place between the 17 and 21 December 2013.[1]
History
Tatarstan will made their début in the Türkvizyon Song Contest at the 2013 festival, in Eskişehir, Turkey.,[1] it was announced on October 19, 2013 that Tatarstan would hold a televised selection for Turkvizyon with the final taking place on 21 November 2014.[2] On 8 November 2013, the 20 artists taking part in the contest were announced,[3] Alinä Şäripcanova won the selection with the song "Üpkälämim" (Үпкәләмим).[4]
Kazan was announced as the host city for the 2014 contest on 2 November 2013.[5]
