Tarumovsky District (Russian: Тарумовский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[2] district (raion), one of the forty-one in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia. It is located in the north of the republic. The area of the district is 3,020 square kilometers (1,170 sq mi). Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Tarumovka.[1] Population: 31,683 (2010 Census);[3] 28,587 (2002 Census);[6] 30,854 (1989 Census).[7] The population of Tarumovka accounts for 17.0% of the district's total population.[3]
