Tarana railway station is located on the Main Western line in New South Wales, Australia. It serves the town of Tarana, opening on 22 August 1872.[1] The station closed on 27 November 1989 with the track lifted from the northern platform in 1996 when the line was singled.[2]

It was the junction for the Oberon line that closed in 1979. The Oberon Tarana Heritage Railway have a vision to restore the line to Tarana.[3]

Services

Tarana is served by NSW TrainLink's daily Central West XPT service operating between Sydney and Dubbo.[4] Even though it passes through the station, the Bathurst Bullet does not stop.[5]
