Tania Bryer (born 5 July 1962) is a British television presenter, currently affiliated with global network CNBC.
Early life
Educated at Queen's College in Harley Street, Bryer went on to do a Bachelor's degree in politics at the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., from which she graduated in 1984.
Career
From a sales position at Vogue magazine, she joined Sky News in 1991 as a weather presenter. The following year, she replaced weather girl Ulrika Jonsson on TV-am's daily morning show, Good Morning Britain.
Her other presenter credits include fashion and entertainment shows such as The Supermodels, Showbiz Weekly, and Basic Instincts. She has written for various publications, including OK! magazine, and has been the London correspondent for the New York-based CBS shows Entertainment Tonight and Inside Edition.
She also featured in an episode of the parody news show Brass Eye; in the "Science" episode she spoke about mutant clouds and rivers flowing backwards, as well as vertical tube farms.[1]
She has frequently returned to Sky News in her capacity as a newspaper reviewer.
CNBC Meets
Bryer is the executive producer and writer of CNBC Meets, aired on CNBC globally. The series sees her interview a mix of subjects including UK media magnate Richard Desmond, U.S. President Bill Clinton, Naomi Campbell, Jon Bon Jovi and Sir Richard Branson. The show, in its second series, is aimed at finding out what makes these powerful people tick, and what makes them give back.
Charity works
Bryer is Chair of the National Events Committee for Cancer Research UK, as well as Patron of both the Alzheimer's Society and the Miscarriage Association. Bryer has hosted the Hope Galas and conferences in aid of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation in Washington, D.C., Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Amman. She also hosted the International Shafallah Conference in Qatar on Crisis, Conflict and Disability, moderating panel discussions with representatives of the United Nations and International Refugee Organisation. Bryer hosted the Women's Forum in Deauville, and the Women of the Future Awards in London, attended by Cherie Blair and Princess Anne.
Personal life
Bryer married Tim Moufarrige, a senior executive of sports agency IMG in September 1995 but divorced him in 2006. The couple have two daughters. She is the daughter of Lionel Bryer.[2]
