Talagang (Urdu: تلہ گنگ), the headquarters of Talagang Tehsil, is a town located in Chakwal District, Punjab, Pakistan.[1] It is located at 32°55'0N 72°25'0E[2] and lies about 30 kilometers from the M2 motorway and about 45 kilometers from the district capital, Chakwal.
Administration
Talagang is the administrative center of Talagang Tehsil, one of the four Tehsil's (administrative subdivisions) of Chakwal District. The Tehsil is divided into 23 Union councils, two of which form the city of Talagang. There were approximately 114 villages in 2012 under the Tehsil administration of Talagang; Qaderpur is a well-known village of Talagang due to its beautiful mountainous view and peanut production. People from all over Punjab visit the famous shrines of Baba Shah and Amma BiBi that are situated in the heart of Qadirpur. Talagang has a wide range of mosques, some of the most prominent being Colony Mosque and Mughal Mosque Basti Faizabad.
Health facilities
Talagang has public sector health facilities. The city hosts the Tehsil headquarters hospital and a 50-bed city hospital. Apart from public health facilities there are a number of private hospitals. The major hospitals are Al Karam Hospital, Al Qamar Hospital, Madina Hospital and SAAD Hospital.
Language
Punjabi is the main language of Talagang. Some people from Lahore also are Talangans/Punjabis including Indian Punjabi.
Education
Talagang has public colleges with separate campuses for boys and girls. It has one post graduate college which offers masters level classes for both male and female students. One of the oldest educational institutions is the Fauji Foundation School, established in 1988. It has since been upgraded to an intermediate college. There are also several semi-government and private schools and colleges, some of them have co-education as well. Talagang is in the district of Chakwal which, according to Alif Ailaan's Pakistan District Education Rankings 2014, is the highest ranked district in Punjabi in terms of education.

Local newspapers include the Weekly Mutaqarib, Weekly Talagang Times, Weekly Talagang News, Weekly Akse Talagangand, and online news sites www.talagangtimes.com and aksetalagang.com.
Notable Citizenships
Many prominent Talagang citizens hold key government and private sector positions in Pakistan, including federal government positions in Pakistan, Pakistan Army and private multinational companies. Air Marshal Nur Khan, Commander-in-Chief of PAF in 1965 war;[3] Defense Secretary General (R) Asif Yasin Malik;[4] and Chairman NADRA Malik Tariq Iqbal are all from Talagang.[5] Former Talagang resident, Muhammad Fasih ul Saleh, works as Director in Telenor Group based in Oslo.
