Tahia Kazem (Arabic: تحية كاظم) (1 March 1920[2] – 25 March 1992) was the First Lady of Egypt from 23 June 1956 to 28 September 1970.[2] She married former President Gamal Abdel Nasser in 1944.
Kazem's father, Kazem Baghdadi, was an Iranian clerk.[3] Kazem's mother was Egyptian. Nasser received the approval of her father and the Kazrouni Bey, the honorary leader of Egypt's Iranian community, before their marriage in 1944.[3]
