Tachyporus is a genus of rove beetle in the tribe Tachyporini.[1] It is the type genus of both the tribe Tachyporini and the subfamily Tachyporinae.[1]

Tachyporus is the type genus for the whole Tachyporinae cluster. It contains 32 species. Some species are Tachyporus nanus, Tachyporus sharpi and Tachyporus dispar.[2]

There are 468 specimen records. There are 15 public species in this genus, which is less than half the total number of species. There are 208 public records of Tachyporus. It lives in North America and can be found in Sweden and Finland, but is mostly found New Zealand.[2]
