Tağlar Cave

Taghlar cave (Azerbaijani: Tağlar mağarası) – is a cave, where habituated a human of the Stone Age (Mousterian epoch).[1] The cave is located in Azerbaijan, in the southern part of Böyük Tağlar village, on the left shore of the Guruchay River.[2][3][4]
Beginning from 1963, archeological excavations had been carried out in the cave and more than 7 thousand of stone tools and more than 2 thousand animal bones were found out. A potter of the Middle, Bronze and Copper Ages were found out after the first layer.[5] Patterns of Mousterian culture had been found out between the 2nd and 6th layers. Numerous work-pieces for making tools, red, black, brown, grey, white and other colors had been found out in inventory of the cave. The cave was excavated by M.M.Huseynov.[1]
