Construction and design
The ship was originally constructed as a Training Ship for mariners and maritime cadets of the Inter Pacific Lines Co. Ltd. of Japan. Construction started in July 1968 and was christened as the TS Seuin Maru.[1]
Operational History
TF Damayan
The TS Kapitan Felix Oca was activated by the Philippine Navy Reserve Command as part of an international relief coalition to assist the provinces affected by Typhoon Haiyan. They were tasked to help ferry relief goods and rescue personnel to typhoon ravaged areas of Leyte after TS Haiyan left the province in ruins in November 2013.[2]
