TONGASAT

TONGASAT is the licenced agent of the Kingdom of Tonga which is responsible for making and coordinating Tonga's satellite filings to the International Telecommunication Union and then licencing those satellite filings to international satellite operators for their commercial use.

At April 2002 Tongasat started own telecommunication industry when obtained the Esiafi 1 (former private American Comstar D4) satellite (launched in 1981) that was moved to Tonga’s owned geostationary point at 70° East (and then to 70° East at 2007).
