TGV Cinemas (formerly known as Tanjong Golden Village) is the second largest cinema chain in Malaysia.

Overview

The biggest TGV cinema is located in Sunway Pyramid, with 12 screens and 2598 seats. The second largest TGV cinema is TGV Suria KLCC with 12 screens and 2459 seats. It was previously the largest TGV outlet before substituted by TGV Sunway Pyramid after renovation which included an IMAX hall, 2 TGV Club and 1 TGV Beanieplex.

Their latest cinema outlet is at Encorp Strand Mall, Petaling Jaya which opened in April 2014. It houses 8 screening halls including a Beanieplex hall.

TGV Cinemas is to be on a rebranding exercise spree, launching their new concept first at TGV Wangsa Walk, followed by TGV Mesra Mall and also the other upcoming cinemas. They introduced a new type of cinema hall named as Beanieplex (also known as 'the bean bag hall'), which the seats are all replaced by bean bags cushion where moviegoers will be able to experience their movies in the comfort of bean bag cushion. Beanieplex is available at TGV Sunway Pyramid, TGV ÆON Bukit Tinggi Shopping Centre, TGV 1Utama,TGV Setiawalk Mall, TGV ÆON Tebrau City Shopping Centre, and TGV 1st Avenue. TGV Club is intended for viewers whom are seeking luxury when watching their favourite movies. TGV Club is currently located in only two TGV outlets, TGV Sunway Pyramid and TGV Bukit Indah There are three cinemas featured Cantina, the very first lifestyle café among TGV Cinemas in the Klang Valley, the three cinemas are TGV 1st Avenue, TGV 1Shamelin, TGV Sunway Pyramid.

TGV Cinemas launched their first IMAX hall in TGV Sunway Pyramid on 15 December 2011. It is also the only IMAX hall in the country after the ceased operation IMAX hall located in Berjaya Times Square, where the original location has been replaced by GSC MAXX. The first movie shown in the IMAX hall is Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. According to the official TGV Facebook page, the IMAX hall was built by combining Hall 6 and Hall 7. Apart from that, TGV Cinemas launched their hall known as TGV Club in the same location.

Meanwhile, the old TGV Cinemas at 1 Utama which had been in renovation for over a year was relocated from the 2nd floor to the 3rd floor. it is now the largest TGV cinema in Malaysia with 12 halls. TGV Cinemas' second IMAX hall is located there. The cinema was opened on 13 December 2012 and the IMAX hall is larger than the one in Sunway Pyramid. TGV will also introduce their new type of cinema hall known as TGV Indulge which is more luxurious than TGV Club.

TGV currently has 25 cinemas all over Peninsular Malaysia (including the one which is undergoing renovation). Another 4 TGV Cinemas will be opening in the future, including 3 in East Malaysia. The cinemas are listed below.
