T A Shahid was one of the notable story & scriptwriters for Malayalam film industry in the recent times. His notable works include Balettan and Rajamanikyam which were among highest grossers of those years. He is the younger brother of another famous Malayalam scriptwriter T. A. Razzaq.

He died aged 41 on September 29, 2013 in a private hospital in Kozhikode where he had been undergoing treatment for sometime.
