The Pachystela (Synsepalum brevipes) is a medium to large tree in the family Sapotaceae. It occurs in subtropical lowlands from Angola to Mozambique. The sweet-scented flowers are produced from late summer to autumn. Edible fruits appear in late winter and contain one smooth seed.
