Symplocos coronata is a species of plant in the Symplocaceae family. It is endemic to Sri Lanka.

Leaves

elliptic to obovate, base tapered to rounded, short-pointed apex, margin nearly entire to denticulate, lateral veins 11-16 pairs, tertiary veins transverse to laterals and midrib, pubescent beneath.

Trunk

twigs sparsely adpressed pilose to long-pubescent.

Flowers

pinkish white; Inflorescence - spikes or racemes originating beneath uppermost whorl of leaves.

Fruits

ovoid to cylindrical, pubescent drupe.

Ecology

rain forest understory; scrub.

Culture

Known as "උගුඩු හල් - ugudu hal" in Sinhala.
