Sylhet International University (SIU) is a private university located at Shamimabad, Bagbari Sylhet, Bangladesh. It was established under The Private University Act of 1992.[1] SIU is affiliated with University Grants Commission of Bangladesh. The first Vice Chancellor was Dr. Sadruddin Ahmed Chawdhury, former president of Bangladesh Physical Society (1995-1996) and first Vice Chancellor of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. The current Vice Chancellor is Professor Dr. Susanta kumar Das.
