Syktyvdinsky District (Russian: Сыктывдинский райо́н; Komi: Сыктывдін район) is an administrative district (raion), one of the twelve in the Komi Republic, Russia.[1] Municipally, it is incorporated as Syktyvdinsky Municipal District.[2] It is located in the south of the republic. The area of the district is 7,405 square kilometers (2,859 sq mi). Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Vylgort.[1] District's population: 22,660 (2010 Census);[3] 24,226 (2002 Census);[6] 27,396 (1989 Census).[7] The population of Vylgort accounts for 45.4% of the district's total population.[3]
