Syed Ali Asad Zaidi (Urdu: سید علی اصد زیدی) is a Pakistani singer and reality programs competitor. He is best known for his first reality show Pakistan Idol.[1] Ali Asad is a pop-rock singer, his singing style is highly admired by Pakistani audience and Idol judges.He is one of the 13 finalist of currently running Pakistani reality singing competition Pakistan Idol.[2] In the semi finals of Pakistan Idol, Ali Asad was eliminated on 20 April 2014.

Personal life

Ali Asad born to Muslim parents in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. His mother Humaira Zahid is a TV actress. He is currently a student of commerce but took a break to take part in Pakistan idol. Syed Ali Asad Zaidi started singing at very early age, his is influenced by the rock and pop music of Pakistan. He took part in many music competitions and completed one as a Winner and one as a runner up. His style of singing by blending classic version with rock version accepted very well by judges and audience His music influenced includes Asad Amanat Ali Khan, Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Kishore Kumar and Mohammad Rafi.

Pakistan Idol

Ali Asad auditioned for Pakistan Idol in Karachi Auditions. He was selected and got a golden ticket to Karachi after his Pop-rock performance, he sand Ali Azmat song "Papu Yaar". Asad performances in Pakistan Idol critiqued positively due to the versatility of his tone. Asad was eliminated in Group 3 of semifinals, but was saved by judges as a fourth judges choice contestant. He has been critiqued highly positive throughout his Pakistan Idol journey.[3] He is good friends with Syed Sajid Abbas, Abd-ul-Rafay Khan, Shameer Aziz Quidwai, Zamad Baig, Kashif Ali, Waqas Ali Vicky, Muhammad Shoaib, and Asad Raza Sonu,Abd-ul-Ahad Khan and Waqas Ali.

Pepsi Smash

Ali Asad Zaidi had been singing since 2003. In 2013, he became a part of a reality singing competition called "Pepsi Smash", a show that is sponsored by the same sponsors as those of Pakistan Idol. He was brought to the producer’s of the show by a mutual friend before his Pakistani Idol auditions. But for Idol show he was selected on the basis of Judges yeses and on his performance. For pepsi smash he sung "Aankhon se" which got critical acclaim and success.

Pakistan Sangeet Icon

Syed Ali Asad Zaidi has been steadfast in keeping his singing career on track since the early 2000s. His foray into music led him to various reality singing competitions including participating in the first season of the Pakistan Sangeet Icon in 2008, for which he completed the show with runner-up title.
