Sydney Theatre School
Program
The school initially delivered a one year part time course from 2005. In 2013, a fully accredited three-year full-time actor training program was introduced. The qualification is called the Advanced Diploma of Arts (Acting)10260NAT. Students are accepted into the school based on their performance in an audition and interview. Both courses offer training in Acting; Voice; Singing; Movement; Improvisation; Theory and History of Theatre; Screen Acting; Theatre Skills; Production; and Professional Practice. The School's philosophy is that acting is best learnt on the job and that performing in front of an audience provides students with the quickest and most effective way to learn and develop their craft.
Productions
The School stages several productions each year. Each production is directed by a highly experienced and qualified teacher / director. Productions are staged over several nights in the final weeks of each semester, in front of a public audience. This allows those students wishing to enter the theatre, film or television industry the opportunity to showcase their work.
