Swan Village railway station

Swan Village railway station was an intermediate station on the Great Western Railway's London (Paddington) to Birkenhead via Birmingham (Snow Hill) line. It was opened in 1854. It was the last station before the Dudley Branch of the line diverged from the main line. The Dudley branch closed in 1964 as part of the Beeching Axe, but Swan Village remained open until 1972 and the closure of the main line. A level crossing was situated at one end of the station, and Black Lake tram stop on the Midland Metro route is situated on the other side of this crossing.
