Suwannee cooter (Pseudemys concinna suwanniensis) is a species of turtle in the genus Pseudemys that lives in Florida including on the Suwannee River. They were hunted for their meat but are now protected.^[1]

Appearance

Their upper carapace is black in color, with yellow markings, while the lower carapace is light orange or yellow with black markings. They can reach 17 inches (43.7 centimeters) in length.

Diet

Their diet mainly consists of aquatic plants.^[2]
