Suva Grammar School (or SGS) is a secondary school in Suva, Fiji. The school caters 6 streams for Forms 3 to 6 and 3 streams for Form 7. Suva Grammar has a school population of more than 1000 students. The school is in a location near the heart of the city and by the seaside. They are known to be very competitive in sports against their rivals school Marist Brothers High School.
History
In 2004 the school, in cooperation with police, launched a pilot "Scholastic Crime Stoppers" programme targeting drug use, truancy and other problems.[1][2]
In 2008, members of the Suva Grammar Old Students Association made a request to the Fijian Minister for Education for school principal Ilikimi Kunagogo to be removed. [3]
Sport
Suva Grammar has won the coveted prize of school boys' rugby, the Deans Trophy on one occasion and played to a draw with Ratu Kadavulevu School in 2005. SGS is the reigning athletics Coca Cola Games champions in the boys division of the Fiji Secondary School's athletics championships, having successfully defended their title in 2010.
In 2011 Suva Grammar School won the Cokes, the fifth year win a row but then lost it in 2012 to Marist Brother's High School.

- Samuela Vunisa -Fiji Under 19 & 20 Rugby Team, In 2009 he played in Taranaki Rugby New Zealand, 2011 - 2012 Rugby Calvisano in Italy, In the summer of 2013 he was signed by one of the two Italian outfits in the Pro 12, Zebre. He qualified for the Italy national rugby union team in Autumn 2014 under the IRB 3-year residency rule, and was called up into the squad for the 2014 Autumn Rugby Internationals, winning his first cap on 22 November 2014 against South Africa national rugby union team. Italy national rugby union team were in contention for most of the game but conceded two late tries to lose 22-6.
- Jerry Yanuyanutawa - Flying Fijian, plays for Glasgow Warriors. He grew up in Fiji, where he represented their Under 21 side. Yanuyanutawa, who plays at prop, made his debut for the Brumbies in the 2010 Super 14 season.[1] He joined London Irish in August 2012.[2]. In July 2013, he signed for Scottish side Glasgow Warriors joining fellow flying Fijian, Nikola Matawalu [3]
- Viliame Mata -Fiji 7's Rep, Nadroga
- Sekonaia Kalou-plays lock for the Kaikorai Rugby Football Club and for Otago in the ITM Cup. He has also played for the 2nd Division New Zealand club North Otago with whom he won the Heartland Championship playing alongside fellow Fijian players Viliame Veikoso, Noa Soqeta and Waitisoni Lotawa. After playing for North Otago he made his way into the 1st Division team Otago in 2007.He made his International debut for Fiji in June 2010 against Australia, he played in all of Fiji's matches for the 2010 Pacific Nations Cup and was selected to tour with the Fijian XV during November 2010.
As well as rugby Kalou has also represented Fiji in Archery and Mens Netball
