Suriyawan is a town and a nagar panchayat in Sant Ravidas Nagar district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[1] Suriyawan had a population of 17,014. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Suriyawan has an average literacy rate of 57%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 71%, and female literacy is 43%. In Suriyawan, 17% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Geography
Suriyawan is situated near carpet city Bhadohi.Suriyawan has some famous place like Bawan Beegha Talab, very old College Ghanshyam Dubey Degree College and Sai Dhaam also known as Kashi-Prayag Ke SaiBaba, A Sai Baba Temple situated in one of the oldest village of Suriyawan known as Purana Pur. Now there is one engineering and management college (Shree Institute of Engineering and Management) open in Mahuapur, Chauthar.
