Surapata or Sura Pata (Aymara sura dry jiquima, a species of Pachyrhizus, pata step,[2] "sura step", also spelled Sorapata) is a mountain in the north of the Apolobamba mountain range on the border of Bolivia and Peru. It is about 5,900 metres (19,357 ft) high. On the Bolivian side it is located in the La Paz Department, Franz Tamayo Province, Pelechuco Municipality, and on the Peruvian side it lies in the Puno Region, Putina Province, Sina District. Surapata is situated between the mountains Luqhu Phawchinta and Khunuyu in the north and Chawpi Urqu (Wisk'achani) in the south. The lake Japuqucha lies southwest of it.[1][3]
