Sunshine and Rain is the eleventh studio album by American country music artist, Connie Smith. The album was released in October 1968 on RCA Victor Records and was produced by Bob Ferguson. It was Smith's second and final studio released in 1968.

Background and release

Sunshine and Rain was Smith's second album released in 1968, but did not spawn any singles. The album included twelve tracks of newly recorded material by Smith, including a cover version of John Hartford's "Gentle on My Mind" and Jan Howard's "What Makes a Man Wander." The album's title track, "Just a Little Sunshine in the Rain" was included as the final track on the album. Sunshine and Rain was originally issued on a 12-inch LP album, with six songs on each side of the record. The album has not been reissued since its original release. The album was also recorded at the RCA Victor Studio in Nashville, Tennessee, between 1967 and early 1968.[1] Upon its release in 1968, Sunshine and Rain peaked at #32 on the Billboard Magazine Top Country Albums chart, her lowest-charting album at that point.[2]
