Sunnyland Patio Furniture Co. is a middle to upper end outdoor casual furniture company with headquarters in Dallas, Texas. It has been voted #1 Outdoor Furniture store in the USA and received the prestigious Apollo Award on numerous occasions.[1] Sunnyland carries many high-end brands of outdoor and patio furniture in their 35,000-square-foot (3,300 m2) showroom.

History

Sunnyland started as an indoor furniture store many years ago and became a casual furniture store back in the 1970s.[2] In the 1980s, Sunnyland added baby and children's furniture in addition to outdoor furnishings. In 1990, the reconstruction of Central Expressway forced Sunnyland to find a new location. Sunnyland moved to the northwest corner of Spring Valley and Coit Road in 1991. In the mid- 1990s, Sunnyland sold off its children's furniture business and expanded with an on-site clearance center. In 2003, Sunnyland added a new 10,000 showroom to its existing space and moved its distribution center on-site right behind the store.

World's Largest Patio Chair

Sunnyland Furniture is home to the world's largest aluminum outdoor patio chair.[3] This chair is a replica of a Tamiami chair by Brown Jordan and has been at Sunnyland on display for nearly 20 years. People come by from all over to get their picture taken in the chair and it has been featured in Advocate Magazine, WFAA-TV, and Flash News wire. The chair has also been cited as one of the reasons why Dallas / Fort Worth is the 38th craziest city in the United States.[4]
